Ann's Pure Desi Ghee is sourced from the open pastures of Himachal Pradesh and is hand made by traditional method from 'A2' milk. A2 Cow', same as 'Indian Indigenous Cow' is a recent discovery for modern science as a safer source of dairy as opposed to Holstein, Jersey or other foreign breeds. Revered as 'Mother' in Ayurveda, the Indian cow has a special hump on her back called 'Surya Ketu' which uses the sun's energy to make its milk safe and beneficial for other mammals to drink.
Indian Cow Ghee (similar to but not same as 'clarified butter') traditionally called ‘Desi Ghee’, is made from Indian Cow's Milk. It has been revered for nutritional and medicinal properties for thousands of years in India. It is the only butter known to man that melts below human body temperature at 36 degrees celsius. This powerful gift from the Indian Cow is made in rural areas all over the country and thankfully remains in household use till today although only few farmers truly still follow the traditional Vedic technique of making it.
This heirloom food has been selected for its genetic integrity and medicinal value while our heirloom farmers passionately adhere to the highest standards of natural farming. Slow, chemical-free processing methods are used where necessary.
Benefits:
Indian cow's ghee is known for its long list of benefits. Ghee is essentially a very effective lubricant for the joints, heart, nervous and digestive system thus improving critical biological functions with the added benefit of providing clarity of mind. Also, ghee is rich in nutrients like Vitamin K2 which help in hormone re-balancing.
Suggested Use:
Ghee can be eaten daily, uncooked and raw as a light spread over breads etc.
With a high smoking point (250C or 482F), ghee is one of the best oils to use in cooking as it doesn't break down into free radicals easily like other cooking oils.
Ghee is also a common topical treatment for burns and rashes as well as a great moisturiser and massage oil for the skin and scalp.
Storage:
This item is pure and undenatured. It can be stored in an air-tight container away from direct sunlight for 1-2 years or more. Do not refrigerate.
Note:
Desi Ghee contains little to no casein or lactose; two compounds in dairy that most often cause allergies and sensitivities. This means that most dairy-sensitive people can enjoy Ghee.
